Choral music for the end of the church year

153 Artikel
In the numbering of Sundays, according to the Protestant lectionary the last three Sundays before Advent are described as the “end of the church year”. On these Sundays the liturgy particularly reflects on dying, death, and judgement. The last Sunday before Advent is celebrated as “Ewigkeitssonntag” or “Totensonntag”, the Sunday on which the dead are commemorated. “Buß- und Bettag”, the Day of Prayer and Repentance which the Protestant church has celebrated on the Wednesday before Ewigkeitssonntag since 1934, is also in this tradition.
