Secular choral music

All editions of secular choral music

Here the range stretches from Italian madrigals by Heinrich Schütz to German choral song compositions from the Romantic period (Brahms, Mendelssohn, Rheinberger and others), to choral works by contemporary composers, and finally to film music arrangements (The Hobbit, James Bond). Transcriptions by Clytus Gottwald form a special category; in these he transforms songs and instrumental works from the 19th and 20th centuries into ambitious and demanding choral repertoire.
