Choral Music for Passiontide and Easter

Carus offers an extensive repertoire of choral music for Passiontide and Easter. This ranges from highlights such as Bach's St Matthew Passion and Schütz's Musikalische Exequien to less well-known but equally wonderful compositions such as the Passion Cantata by Homilius. Dramatic Baroque Passion settings (Schütz, Handel, Bach) and moving Stabat Mater settings from the 18th and 19th century (Scarlatti, Pergolesi, Dvo?ák, Rossini) also feature in our publishing program. Carefully-edited Urtext editions offer a reliable basis for practical performance material, published in the high-quality printed scores. Many works are also available in carus music, the choir app, a convenient practice aid.

On our website you can browse through our extensive and varied repertoire for Passiontide and Easter. Different filters enable individual searches by scoring and duration of works. Have a look and a listen: you can find sample scores and audio samples online!
