Fiedellieder
The Fiedellieder for baritone, violin and piano, composed by the violinist Carl Louis Bargheer (a close friend of Johannes Brahms since his time in Detmold) on texts by Theodor Storm, are presented as a printed edition for the first time. The critical edition of the cycle, which consists of six Lieder, was compiled as a hybrid edition at the Musicology Seminar Detmold/Paderborn. The violin part is – in accordance with the abilities of the then highly esteemed virtuoso – very challenging, but it always remains
embedded with-in the interpretational framework prescribed by the text of this chamber music jewel.
