The coloratura soprano Anabel Pérez Real was born in 1988 in Barcelona where she graduated in 2012 as a Bachelor of Music in Vocal Performance. From 2012 to 2014, she sang at the Centre de Perfeccionament Plácido Domingo in Valencia, performing – among others – the roles of Arpago in L’Incoronazione di Dario (Vivaldi) and Elvira in Rossini’s L’Italiana in Algeri under the direction of Ottavio Dantone. In 2013, she made her debut in Sabadell as the Queen of the Night in Mozart’s The Magic Flute. She was awarded the Extraordinary Prize for the most remarkable Catalan competitor at the 50th Francisco Viñas International Singing Contest, as well as the Junior Audience Award. Anabel Pérez Real was recently awarded the Bruno Frey Music Prize 2016.
