The pianist Chia Chou was born in Taiwan and received his musical instruction from Professor Lieselotte Gierth at the Stuttgart Conservatory. During his studies Chia Chou already won the Mendelssohn-Wettbewerb in Berlin and the Sydney International Competition. He has concertized throughout Europe, Australia, New Zealand, Canada, the Far East, and in America. In 1984 he played with the Los Angeles Philharmonic Orchestra in the closing concert of the Olympic Games. Since 1990 he has been a member of the renowned “Trio Parnassus,” which was awarded the Echo Classic Prize in 2001. He was named Professor at the Conservatory of Music and Performing Arts in Graz.
