Yeree Suh
A propos de la personne
Yeree Suh studied singing at Seoul National University and obtained her Solo Diploma with distinction from the Berlin University of the Arts as a student of Harald Stamm. She subsequently
completed her education with Regina Werner-
Dietrich at the University of Music and Theatre
“Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy” in Leipzig and
with Gerd Türk at the Schola Cantorum Basiliensis.
The Korean soprano made her debut in 2003
at the Innsbruck Festival of Early Music as Nina in
Monteverdi’s opera L’Orfeo conducted by René
Jacobs. She has collaborated with renowned conductors such as Herreweghe, Koopman, Kuijken and Suzuki, performing with orchestras such as the Frankfurt Radio Symphony Orchestra, the Seoul Philharmonic Orchestra and the Bamberg Symphony Orchestra and has sung at important festivals. At the same time, she has established a reputation as a performer of contemporary music, singing in, for example, the European premiere of Matthias Pintscher’s Fantasie with lilies white with the Deutsches Symphonie-Orchester Berlin. The release of Suh’s debut recording Musik der Hamburger Pfeffersäcke with the Elbipolis Baroque Orchestra was met with great enthusiasm.
