  • Frieder Bernius’s work has earned great worldwide recognition. He is in demand internationally as a conductor and as a teacher. His principal artistic collaborators are the ensembles he founded himself, the Kammerchor Stuttgart, the Barockorchester Stuttgart, the Hofkapelle Stuttgart and the Klassische Philharmonie Stuttgart. As a guest conductor, he has collaborated repeatedly with, for example, the SWR Vokalensemble Stuttgart, the Deutsche Kammerphilharmonie Bremen, the Stuttgarter Kammerorchester and the Streicherakademie Bozen. Great stylistic versatility is Frieder Bernius’s hallmark. Whether he conducts vocal works by Monteverdi, Bach, Händel, Mozart, Beethoven, Fauré and Ligeti, stage music by Mendelssohn or symphonies by Haydn, Burgmüller and Schubert, his work always aims for a sound that is at once unmistakably personal and at the same time oriented towards the original period sound ideal. He devotes himself equally to the rediscovery of 18th century operas and to first performances of contemporary compositions. He is particularly interested in the musical history of southwestern Germany. Carus-Verlag has awarded Frieder Bernius a Golden CD for his complete recording of the sacred music of Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy. The award was presented to him during the German Choir Festival in Stuttgart 2016. The sale of over 250,000 recordings, which has been acclaimed with a number of awards, has made a not insignificant contribution to what today is the obvious presence of Mendelssohn's complete œuvre in the concert repertoire.   • Peter Thalheimer studied recorder, flute (with Prof. Hartmut Strebel) and school music in Stuttgart. He completed his musicological studies with a doctorate at the Eberhard-Karls-Universität of Tübingen. He has taught in Nuremberg since 1978, and is currently professor of historical performance practice and recorder/transverse flute at the Hochschule für Musik Nuremberg. Concerts, radio and recording productions, courses and lectures he has given have taken him throughout Europe and the USA. In addition, his work has resulted in numerous music editions, as well as publications on performance practice, the study of instruments and on woodwind technique.   • Karl Michael Komma, né le 24.12.1913 à Asch (Bohème), mort en 2012 à Memmingen. Élève, entre autres, de W. Fortner (composition), F. Langer (piano), G. Szell (direction d'orchestre) et G. Becking (musicologie). 1940 Directeur de l'école de musique de Reichenberg. 1954 chargé de cours d'histoire de la musique à la Staatliche Hochschule für Musik de Stuttgart, à partir de 1960 professeur de composition, de théorie musicale et d'histoire de la musique. Après sa retraite en 1978, il a continué à enseigner l'histoire de la musique sacrée jusqu'en 1988, avec une activité intense de compositeur, d'organiste, d'accompagnateur de musique de chambre et de lied et de conférencier. A Reutlingen, il a rendu de grands services à la « Württembergische Philharmonie » et à l'école de musique. In 19 Beiträgen kommen die Vertreter all der Gruppierungen zu Wort, die gedruckte Noten für Beruf und Hobby brauchen und diese in den gewohnt vorzüglichen Ausgaben des Carus-Verlages finden, denn sie haben in Herrn Graulich und seiner unermüdlich mitarbeitenden Gattin die besten Anwälte, die vor allem aus der aktiven Musikszene herausspüren, was gebraucht wird, sei es der Urtext eines großen Werkes, seien es Chor-Einzelausgaben oder besonders z. B. Chorsammlungen für den praktischen Gebrauch der Kirchenchöre, aber auch Spiel- und Singmusiken für Kinder und was sonst noch alles. Wer diese Festschrift studiert und dazu den Gesamtkatalog des Stuttgarter Hauses, der weiß, was ein Viertel Jahrhundert einer Verlagsarbeit sein können und sind.
