Lydia Teuscher

Lydia Teuscher studied at the Musikhochschule Trossingen (Baden-Württemberg), the Welsh College of Music in Cardiff and the Hochschule für Musik in Mannheim. She has given lieder recitals with Graham Johnson in London, Cologne and Antwerp and has sung in concerts with conductors including Roger Norrington, René Jacobs, Markus Stenz and Helmuth Rilling. With her long-standing accompanist, the pianist Juliane Ruf, she has won prizes at various international song competitions including the Robert Schumann Competition in Zwickau, Lili Boulanger Competition in Paris, Paula Salomon Lindberg Competition in Berlin, Federal Singing Competition in Berlin and Musikzauber La Voce in Bayreuth. She joined the ensemble at the Staatsoper in Dresden in September 2006, where she has sung the roles of Pamina (Zauberflöte), Susanna (Le nozze di Figaro), Ännchen (Der Freischütz), Valencienne (Die lustige Witwe) and Gretel.
