Choral music for Feasts of the Blessed Virgin Mary, Hymns in praise of the Virgin Mary
In many church feast days, especially the Catholic and Orthodox churches venerate Mary, the mother of Jesus. Marian feasts have also survived in the Anglican Church and in the Protestant Church. The most important are "Candlemas" (Presentation of the Lord, Feb. 2) "Annunciation" (Annunciation of the Lord, In annuntiatione B.M.V. March 25) "Assumption" (Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary, Aug. 15), "Name of Mary" (Sept. 12) and the Immaculate Conception (Dec. 8). In May, in many Catholic areas, Mary is traditionally venerated in May devotions.
