Great choral works in small scorings
Verdi’s Requiem with just 5 instead of 34 instrumentalists, or Mendelssohn’s Elijah with just a small chamber ensemble. With our arrangements in the “Great choral works in small scorings” series, it is easier and considerably more economical to perform the great choral works which every choir wants to sing. Our publications in this series are constantly being expanded.
- More choirs will have the opportunity to perform these large-scale works.
- Performances can now be programmed with considerably fewer instrumentalists and thus also in smaller performance venues.
- These arrangements offer a fresh look at well-known and popular works.
- Vocal scores and choral scores from the original version can be used.
- Overview: Scorings in original and arrangement
Large-scale works with just organ? This is also possible, you can find all works for mixed choir with keyboard instrument >> here. You can find arrangements of works by a wide range of composers in the Carus series “Choir & Organ”. For each work, the orchestral writing is reduced to accompaniment for organ alone. And a special treat often performed is the version of the Brahms Requiem for two pianos (instead of orchestra) by August Grüters (1841-1911).
