Choral Music with the Topics Peace and Justice
Since time immemorial, people have suffered from war and dictatorship, arbitrary state power and violence. It is precisely in spiritual songs and hymns that they express their hope that God will restore peace, freedom and justice. In the young Lutheran Church, for example, a large number of German-language settings of suitable Bible texts for the young cantorries and Kurrenden were created under the impression of the devastating 30-year war.
