Bernhard Klein
| 1793-1832Bernhard Klein, born 1793 in Cologne, died 1832 in Berlin. First musical training in Cologne, went to Paris in 1812. His enthusiasm for Italian vocal polyphony brought him into contact with A.F.J. Thibaut in Heidelberg in 1816. Music director at Cologne Cathedral, from 1818 in Berlin; first composition teacher at the Royal Institute for Church Music. Klein's importance is based above all on his influential pedagogical work and his vocal compositions. Personal details
