Carl Friedrich Zelter
| 1758-1832Carl Friedrich Zelter, geb. 1758 in Berlin, gest. 1832 ebenda. Er erlernte zunächst den Maurerberuf, beschäftigte sich aber sehr viel mit Musik; 1791 trat er in die berühmte Berliner "Singakademie" seines Lehrers C. F. Fasch ein, deren Leitung er im Jahre 1800 übernahm; 1809 Ernennung zum Professor; arbeitete unermüdlich am Aufbau einer systematischen Musikerziehung und Musikpflege. Gründer und Leiter des Kgl. Instituts für Kirchenmusik und Initiator bei der Gründung der Musikabteilung der Kgl. Bibliothek, der heutigen Staatsbibliothek. Personal details
