Henry Purcell
| 1659-1695Henry Purcell is considered the most important composer of the English High Baroque period. He gained his first musical experience as a singing boy in the Royal Chapel. In 1674 he became an organist at Westminster Abbey, three years later Composer of the Violins at Court, and in 1679 he finally became organist of Westminster Abbey himself. Purcell was promoted to organist of the Royal Chapel in 1683 and became the royal steward of instruments in 1683. This put an end to his political and social career and allowed him to concentrate on his musical work. From today's perspective, Henry Purcell appears to be the most important English stage composer of the era before George Frideric Handel. Personal details

| 1965Prof. Dr Klaus K. Weigele has been Director of the State Academy for Young Musicians in Baden-Württemberg since 2002; he has also served on a voluntary basis on the Executive Committee of the State Music Council for many years. In addition, he has been working for many years as a choir director and voice coach at the State Academy, as well as at workshops, residential courses and training programmes for teachers. In 2014, he was awarded the Countess Sonja Memorial Prize by the ‘Singen mit Kindern’ Foundation in recognition of his work. He has recorded several CDs with his children’s choir, SingsalaSing. He is the author and editor of numerous songbooks and choir books – including the school choir book series "chorissimo!" published by Carus-Verlag – as well as articles and writings on the subjects of music, music education and music pedagogy. Bobbi Fischer
| 1965Bobbi Fischer studied school music, jazz and popular music as well as film music at the Musikhochschule Stuttgart and the Filmhochschule Ludwigsburg and now works as a pianist and composer. He covers a broad spectrum of jazz, classical and popular music. In addition to compositions for film and theatre, he performs with various bands. For over 25 years, he toured with the music-comedy group Tango Five. Today he performs with his trio ‘Berta Epple’. He lives out his love of Argentine tango with the Raúl Jaurena Trio. In addition to the Carus publishing house, his clients include Musik der Jahrhunderte, the Stuttgart Philharmonic and the Landesakademie für die musizierende Jugend. He is a lecturer at various workshops.
