Ecce quam bonum
Psalm 133
"Ecce quam bonum" is one of the so-called hymns of "pilgrimage" in the Psalms of David which presumably were sung by the supplicants on the road to Jersusalem. The soprano melody, which often tends to move upwards, as well as the ascending scales in the piano depict in sound the pilgrimage of the Faithful who ascended the Mount Zion in Jerusalem. "Ecce quam bonum" is a very lyrical, moving piece of mid-level difficutly suitable for women's or children's choirs. This piece was commissioned for the Europa Cantat Festival 2015 held in Pécs, Hungary.

| 1963Ivo Antognini wurde 1963 in Locarno, Schweiz, geboren und studierte bis 1985 Klavier bei Nora Doallo in Luzern. Auf sein Klavierdiplom folgten weitere Studien bei Joe Haider an der SwissJazz School in Bern. Von 1989 bis heute komponierte er eine Vielzahl von Werken für Film und Fernsehen. Sein Interesse gilt besonders der Vokalmusik. Im Juli 2008 präsentierte er mit grossem Erfolg einige seiner Kompositionen beim 8th WorldSymposium on Choral Music in Kopenhagen. Seit 2009 werden seine Werke weltweit von erstklassigen Chören aufgeführt. 1987 erhält er eine Professur für das Fach Gehörbildung und Klavier-Nebenfach am Conservatorio dellaSvizzera Italiana Lugano.
