Jan Janca
| 1933-2023Jan Janca, born in 1933 in the Free State of Gdansk, studied organ, harpsichord, piano and composition at the university in Krakow from 1950 to 1955. He then worked as a freelance organist for the Polish State Radio at Oliva Cathedral and also gave concerts abroad. During a stay in West Germany in 1957, he remained in the West and studied composition with Johann Nepomuk David at the Stuttgart University of Music from 1958 to 1962. From 1966 to 1969, Janca travelled to Paris at intervals for private lessons with Marcel Dupré. Janca has lived as a freelancer in Tübingen and Berlin since 1996. Personal details
