Psalm 100 1781
Johann Adam Hiller's Psalm 100 can be considered as the highpoint of his church music. The work was known during the lifetime of the composer far beyond Germany, even to the Baltic States. Now the first printed edition of this beautifully sounding psalm setting is available. The five-movement composition is suited both for concert as well as liturgical purposes. Even today this composition of the St. Thomas Cantor and founder of the Leipziger Gewandhaus concert series will not fail to miss its mark.

| 1728-1804Attended school first in Görlitz and then at the Kreuzschule in Dresden, where he was a pupil of G. A. Homilius. 1751 studied in Leipzig, 1754 tutor to Count Heinrich von Brühl. Back in Leipzig in 1758, Hiller was active as a concert organiser, conductor, singing teacher and music publicist; he was the first director of the concerts held in the Gewandhaus from 1781. 1789 Thomas Cantor in succession to Johann Friedrich Doles. | 1955Klaus Winkler wurde 1955 in Nürnberg geboren und studierte nach dem Abitur an der Johannes-Gutenberg-Universität Mainz Schulmusik, Musikwissenschaft, Germanistik sowie Buch- und Druckwesen. Sein erstes Staatsexamen für das Lehramt an Gymnasien absolvierte er 1979. Zwischen 1976 und 1980 studierte er parallel Soloposaune bei Prof. Armin Rosin in Stuttgart. Seine Promotion erlangte er 1982 mit dem Thema "Selbständige Instrumentalwerke mit Posaune in Oberitalien von 1590-1650. Ein Beitrag zur Frühgeschichte der Instrumentalsonate." Gleichzeitig absolvierte er 1982 das zweite Staatsexamen für das Lehramt an Gymnasien und ist seit 1983 im Schuldienst tätig. Seit 1999 ist er Direktor des Martin-Butzer-Gymnasiums Dierdorf der Evangelischen Kirche im Rheinland. Neben seiner schuldienstlichen Tätigkeit arbeitet er als Herausgeber, Bearbeiter und Komponist vor allem von Bläsermusik, veröffentlichte wissenschaftliche Arbeiten und gibt regelmäßig Konzerte.
