"A royalist French peasant happens upon a picturbook cheese. Of course, he wants to bring it to the king, which is a difficult undertaking, given the long distance and the need to preserve the condition of the cheese… The happy ending is never in doubt. The unison choir has quite a bit to do, but the text and melodies are quick to learn… the musical accompaniment is kept simple. Even smaller children are sure to enjoy it."

Kurt Gramß: Ein Käse für den König
Einem royalistisch gesinnten französischen Bauern ist ein ‚Käs’ wie aus dem Bilderbuch’ gelungen. Diesen möchte er natürlich dem König bringen, angesichts des langen Wegs und der Güte des Käs’ eine schwierige Aufgabe… Das Happy-End ist nicht in Frage gestellt. Der einstimmige Chor hat einiges zu tun, Text und Melodien lassen sich aber schnell aufnehmen … die musikalische Begleitung ist recht einfach gehalten. Auch kleinere Kinder werden ihre Freude haben.
