Amada Noche – Beloved Night. When writing this piece, Chilean composer Martín Letelier envisioned the silvery moonlight reflecting on ocean waves, coupled with a sense of nature’s sheer immensity – a vastness that somehow feels close and intimate. Based on a poem by his compatriot Malú Urriola, the work was composed in 2020/21 during a time of isolation and uncertainty. It serves as an invitation to find comfort, rather than a sense of danger, within darkness.
