Shchedryk (which translates literally as "bounteous evening") is a Ukrainian New Year carol. The song is widely known with another text as an English Christmas carol ("Carol of the Bells").
Fredo Jung wrote this wonderful melancholy-spirited arrangement for the Folk Songs Project by Calmus Ensemble (Carus 83.034). This song is suitable for ensembles and ambitious amateur choirs.
