  • Otto Scherzer, geb. 1821 in Ansbach, gest. 1886 in Stuttgart. Sohn eines Stadtkantors. Studierte bei J. Dürrner und I. Faißt. Ab 1854 Professor für Orgel am Münchner Konservatorium, ab 1860 Nachfolger F. Silcher in Tübingen. Befreundet mit M. v. Schwind, F. Lachner und E. Mörike. Bedingt durch seine labile Gesundheit entstanden nur wenige, aber sehr beachtenswerte Kompositionen (Orgelwerke und Vokalmusik). Personal details
