  • Benedikt Lechler studied at the Jesuit College in Vienna. He took on important leading positions in various abbeys, including Admont and Kremsmünster. In the 1630s, he travelled to Italy, including Rome, where he met Giacomo Carissimi. His oeuvre mainly comprises vocal music. He recorded his compositions as well as a broad repertoire of Italian Baroque music of the time in the so-called Codices Lechler. Personal details
