Pastorale: Pastoral music for organ, Vol. 1: Italy, Switzerland, France, England
The present collection contains 47 Pastorale compositions for organ of the 17th and 18th centuries from Italy, Switzerland, France and England: Pastorales with characteristic Sicilian rhythms, writing with organ point and the imitation of shepherd instruments as well as Noëls with their typical ornamentation and wealth of color. The selected works are of a mid-level difficulty and are an invitation to discover a repertoire which is most charming – not only during Christmas season.

Armin Kircher
| 1966-2015Armin Kircher studied church music at the Mozarteum in Salzburg. Until his death he was Director of the Church Music Department of the Archdiocese of Salzburg, and since 1992 he had been administrative director of the Österreichische Werkwoche für Kirchenmusik (Austrian Week for Church Music). He was also Director of Music at St Peter's Abbey, Salzburg and organist at the Cajetan Church in Salzburg. The collections he edited for the Catholic liturgy have become established standard works, in particular the choral collections Chorbuch Mozart • Haydn, the Chorbuch Kirchenjahr (Choirbook for the Church Year) and publications for organ and choir for the new Catholic hymnbook Gotteslob. Als Sammlung ausgesprochen leichter Orgelmusik kann der Band dennoch gerade im nebenberuflichen Organistenalltag von gutem Nutzen sein, auch außerhalb der Weihnachtszeit.
