Thomas Gabriel
| 1957Thomas Gabriel was born in Essen, where he studied Catholic church music at the Folkwang University. After completing his A and concert exams, he worked as a regional cantor in various German dioceses. Since 1998, he has worked as a regional cantor in the diocese of Mainz for the Offenbach, Rodgau and Seligenstadt deaneries at the Einhard Basilica of St Marcellinus and St Peter in Seligenstadt. He performed extensively as an organist, harpsichordist and pianist. With his formations, the Christ Guys and the Thomas Gabriel Trio, he performs throughout Germany, abroad and in various radio and television productions. Personal details

Thomas Gabriel: Jingle bells. Variationen für verschiedene Chorbesetzungen
Eine wirkungsvolle Zugabe für ein Weihnachtskonzert gefällig? Das wäre sie. Allerdings stellen die acht Variationen über das bekannte Lied doch erhebliche Ansprüche an den ausführenden Chor (technisch, Teilung bis SSAATTBB). Eine köstlicher stilistisch (mit viel Augenzwinkern) nachvollzogen als die andere reihen sich I Choral -II Gregorianik -III Frühe Mehrstimmigkeit (organum) -IV Venezianische Mehrchörigkeit -V Barock -VI Carl Orff (Anlehnung Odi et amo) -VII Dekadenz (!) und VIII Wiener Walzer aneinander. Wenn machbar – sehr empfehlenswert!
