Personal details

Anne Riegler (*1990) studied piano, classical piano improvisation and piano pedagogy in Würzburg, Stuttgart, St. Petersburg and New York City. The pianist performs as a soloist and chamber musician in Germany and abroad and also integrates her own compositions and improvisations into her concerts. Anne Riegler is also passionate about teaching: she gives courses in piano, piano improvisation and piano didactics and is a lecturer in piano and piano didactics at the Würzburg University of Music. Anne Riegler's compositions include piano works for herself, including a full-length children's concert with piano pieces and text read aloud, as well as pieces for piano students. She also writes children's musicals of various lengths and instrumentation, the texts of which she also writes herself. As the daughter of church musicians, she sang in choirs throughout her childhood and youth and took part in many children's musicals as a singer and later as a pianist. Her musicals focus on the special connection between the content of the text and the affect of the music: the melodies and the arrangement should appeal to both children and adults and be musically interesting and varied. She touches on a wide range of genres and styles from classical, modern, jazz and pop. It is particularly important to her to pass on the joy that she experienced herself as a child when she took part in many musical performances. You can find more information at www.anneriegler.de
