Personal details

Alsatian composer and organist, prize-winner at the Strasbourg Conservatory of Music in the subjects of piano, harmony and orchestral conducting. As an organist and music teacher (retired), he conducted numerous children's choirs in Strasbourg.

Bernard Lienhardt's catalog of works (more than 200 works) shows a preference for sacred music (five oratorios, masses, cantatas, Stabat Mater, Te Deum, Magnificat, motets, etc.) as well as vocal music for young singers (musicals, children's operas, Singspiele, Christmas carols). He is also a composer of instrumental pieces (for piano, organ, trumpets and organ, various instruments), stage music and numerous arrangements.

In 2023, two arrangements of Alsatian folk songs (“Schlof min Kindele” and “Hilf ô Himmel”) were performed by the Maîtrise Ste Philomène (winner of the Prix Bettencourt for choral singing) and voted the best folk songs in a television presentation (France 3, in January 2024).
