Hamburg-born Christiane Iven began her singing career as a mezzo soprano before changing to youthful-dramatic soprano roles. She is a member of the company at the Staatsoper Stuttgart and much in demand as a concert and lieder singer. She has been awarded the Niedersächsischer Staats preis for her outstanding cultural achievements.
