Personal details
Mandyczewski came to Vienna in 1875 and studied music theory and musicology. From 1896, he taught composition at the Conservatory of the Society of Friends of Music in Vienna. He was particularly committed to the complete editions of Joseph Haydn, Franz Schubert and Johannes Brahms. His own compositions include a great deal of vocal music, including eleven Ukrainian choirs and 200 Romanian folk songs.
