Jörg Halubek

Personal details

Jörg Halubek (b. 1977) studied organ, harpsichord, conducting, and musicology in Stuttgart, Freiburg, Basel, and Tübingen with Jon Laukvik, Robert Hill, and Andrea Marcon. He won first prize at the International Johann Sebastian Bach Competition in Leipzig in 2004 (on organ), which was followed by numerous invitations to give recitals in Germany, Italy, Switzerland, Austria, Norway, Russia, Japan, and Korea. He has made recordings for radio and CD. Jörg Halubek is artistic director of the Stuttgart baroque ensemble Il Gusto Barocco and a lecturer in organ, harpsichord, and historical performance practice at the music conservatories in Stuttgart and Karlsruhe. Since October 2010 he has been professor of historic keyboard instruments at the Anton Bruckner Private University in Linz, Austria.
