Johannes Söllner is a multi-talented musician: an award-winning composer and arranger, passionate conductor, improvisational pianist, dedicated music teacher, innovative music theorist and creative performance artist.
After teaching music theory, aural training, practical piano playing for schools, improvisation and arrangement at the music academies in Freiburg, Karlsruhe and Würzburg, he is now a happy freelance musician. His compositional work is stylistically diverse, ranging from solo works and chamber music to choral and orchestral music, film music, stage music, teaching literature and electronic music. His works have been honoured with the Crossover Composition Award, the Paul Hindemith Prize and the Composition Prize of the German Choir Association, among others.
