Knut Schoch
Personal details
Tenor Knut Schoch studied at the Hamburg Conservatory, and is continuing his vocal studies. An accomplished singer specializing in historically-informed performance practice, Schoch is constantly expanding his repertoire which ranges from the Baroque to the 20th century, and is equally at home in music from the Baroque, Classical and Romantic periods. His broad repertoire ranges from medieval works to premieres of contemporary music and encompasses oratorio to lieder singing, chamber music to Baroque and Classical opera. Tours and guest performances have taken him throughout Europe, to Asia, America and Australia. He has taken part in numerous radio, television and CD productions. Schoch teaches at the Hamburg Conservatory and the University of the Arts Bremen. He has been professor at the Hamburg Conservatory and a visiting lecturer at universities in Japan and Australia.
