Konrad Lechner

Personal details
Lechner studied cello and viola da gamba in Munich and later composition with Carl Orff, among others. He began teaching orchestral conducting, choral conducting, counterpoint and viola da gamba in 1948. He continued to teach at various other universities until 1974, including composition and violoncello. As a composer and musician, he also played an important role in historically informed performance practice.
