Luca Pianca

Luca Pianca studied music in Milan and Salzburg with Nikolaus Harnoncourt. He has worked together with Concentus Musicus since 1982. He is also Cofounder of “Il Giardino Armonico,” and has performed with several important singers, among them Cecilia Bartoli, Eva Mei, Christoph Prégardien, Viktoria Mullova und Albrecht Mayer. He has recorded the complete Bach and Vivaldi works for lute as well as over 50 CDs in the baroque chamber repertoire. Luca Pianca regularly participates at the renowned festivals in Salzburg, Lucerne, Schleswig-Holstein and has appeared frequently at Zurich Opera and Theater an der Wien. He was invited by Sir Simon Rattle and by Riccardo Muti to perform in oratorios. Since the year 2008 Luca Pianca is the artistic director of the circle JSB Bach Cantatas at the Wiener Konzerthaus.
