Marie-Pierre Roy

Personal details

French soprano Marie-Pierre Roy began her musical studies at the Conservatoire in Dijon, where she gained a diploma in violin and singing. She continued her training in Stuttgart with Prof. Francisco Araiza, taking courses in singing, music theatre and education, with violin as a second instrument, graduating in 2012. Since then she has studied at the Stuttgart Opera School with Bernhard Gärtner. She has also attended various master classes. Marie-Pierre Roy has a wealth of choral experience, singing in both a cappella ensembles as well as oratorio choruses and opera. She has chosen to embark on a solo career, and her flexible voice is well suited to this, enabling her to sing repertoire from all periods and genres. As well as song recitals and premieres of contemporary works, she also performs as a soloist in oratorio, and is increasingly committed to the operatic stage.
