Among the grandsons of J.S. Bach the one who became most prominent as a composer was Wilhelm Friedrich Ernst Bach (1759–1845), the son of the ?Bückeburg Bach.? His musical education was undertaken by his father and his uncle Johann Christian in London, in whose house he lived for several years. In his compositions, most of which date from before 1800, W.F.E. Bach followed in the footsteps of his father and his celebrated uncle.
