Charles Villiers Stanford
| 1852-1924Sir Charles Villiers Stanford was an Irish composer who spent most of his life as a professor at Cambridge University. Alongside Edward Elgar, for example, he made a decisive contribution to the renewal of English music that took place at the end of the 19th century.
