Reviews
The Lieder chosen for this recording are representative of the composer's work in this genre, featuring works from both early and late in his career. […] The excellent young tenor Andreas Weller, with his piano accompanist Götz Payer, here makes his convincing CD debut as a Lieder singer.

[...] This release is another chance to hear his direct, melodious, and accessible songs. Reger customarily set poems by his contemporaries, often taking his texts from literary magazines. Released with the title Blick in die Lieder (A Look into the Songs), this is a very good overview of Reger's lieder output, with eight of the Opus 76 songs and 19 other songs from early and late in the composer's life. Four of the 27 songs are recorded here for the first time. Weller is a fine singer; his voice has a weight like Peter Schreier's but with more warmth. [...] These songs are not performed often enough, and they deserve to be heard, and what a delight it is to hear them sung so well here, in Weller's recording debut as a lieder singer. Payer's accompaniment is as excellent as the singing. [...]
