Wolfgang Gentner
| 1957Wolfgang Gentner (*1957) studied school music (specialising in composition) and musicology at the Heidelberg-Mannheim University of Music and Heidelberg University; he then studied church music at the Vienna University of Music. From 1985 to 2022, he worked as a music teacher at the Johann-Vanotti-Gymnasium in Ehingen and as a part-time church musician and piano accompanist. His compositions originate from musical practice and are orientated towards the performance of school choirs and amateur choirs. His musical influences are diverse: folklore and pop music, operetta and musicals, classical choral writing. He has won several prizes in choral composition competitions; Carus has published a number of choral compositions. Personal details
