Kristine Larissa Funkhauser
Personal details
Born in Cologne, Kristine Larissa Funkhauser
studied singing with Liselotte Hammes at the
music university of her home town. Already during her final examinations, the mezzo-soprano
was engaged by the State Theater Detmold. She
subsequently held permanent engagements at
the Theater Osnabrück and at the Theater Hagen, where she is still engaged. Her extensive
repertoire contains almost 50 roles, among them
Carmen, Donna Elvira und Werther’s Charlotte as
well as roles from contemporary operas. She was
nominated several times as Singer of the Year for
her performance of Sibel in Ludger Vollmer’s opera adaptation Gegen die Wand, as well as being awarded a career grant. She has sung as a guest at numerous opera houses, among them Kassel, Düsseldorf, Mainz and Oldenburg. Kristine Larissa Funkhauser has performed as a Lied and oratorio singer in, among others, Italy, Austria, Poland and Switzerland.
