Sandra Hanselmann-Kästli

Personal details

Sandra Hanselmann-Kästli took her first piano lessons in the General Department of the Bern Conservatory. She later studied at the Vocational School there with Albert Schneeberger and her future husband Jürg Hanselmann. She completed her studies in Bern in 1985 with a teaching diploma. Further studies took the pianist to Irina Edelstein in Frankfurt, and to Zurich, where she studied with Verena Pfenninger at the Music Conservatory, taking her concert diploma. Sandra Hanselmann was a prizewinner of the Kiefer-Hablitzel Foundation Bern and the Migros Competition Zurich in 1987. With her husband she performs in a piano duo which has made several CD recordings, including works by Brahms, Rheinberger, Honegger and her husband.
