Thomas Gabriel
| 1957Thomas Gabriel was born in Essen, where he studied Catholic church music at the Folkwang University. After completing his A and concert exams, he worked as a regional cantor in various German dioceses. Since 1998, he has worked as a regional cantor in the diocese of Mainz for the Offenbach, Rodgau and Seligenstadt deaneries at the Einhard Basilica of St Marcellinus and St Peter in Seligenstadt. He performed extensively as an organist, harpsichordist and pianist. With his formations, the Christ Guys and the Thomas Gabriel Trio, he performs throughout Germany, abroad and in various radio and television productions. Personal details

Thomas Gabriels Musik ist eingängig und aus einer reichen Praxis geschrieben, aber vom Schwierigkeitsgrad her keinesfalls zu unterschätzen, nicht zuletzt, was Intonation betrifft.

Der Anspruch an die Gesangstechnik ist hoch - nicht nur aufgrund des Tonumfanges, sondern auch durch die Verschiedenartigkeit der Sprachen. Für Chöre, die diesen Ansprüchen gewachsen sind, lohnt es sich, die festliche Lichtmesse aufzuführen.

Zur Orgelausgabe der Lichtmesse liegt nun auch eine Bläserfassung vor. Der doppelchörig angelegten Messe kann diese Fassung noch mehr Glanz und Kraft verleihen.
