Text no. 217 in the Codex Buranus is set in the midst of life in all its glory. There is no room for lamentation in this setting. The focus is on the future, life must go on. Perhaps the text was originally a serenade for a patron on his name day, who was willing to fork out a bit for it? In any case, the mood is cheerful, exuberant and unclouded.
The ensuing interwoven texts nos. 216 and 195 also bring us as invited guests into a good-humored get-together. Everyone should join in the jubilation and toast to the fact that the exuberant gathering will never end.
A merry song with a cheerful, occasionally dotted rhythm, eminently suitable for a choir to sing outdoors.
