Original setting in C minor
Bach reworked the cantata My Life is Fulfilled multiple times for different instrumentations. There is a version in C minor for bass solo (BWV3 82.1) or mezzo-soprano solo (BWV3 82.3): these are included in the full score Carus 31.082/00. The related vocal scores for bass solo (Carus 31.082/03) and for mezzo-soprano solo (Carus 31.082/04) are also available.
In addition, there is a version in E minor for soprano solo; this has been published as Carus 31.082/50.

| 1922-2016Paul Horn war ein deutscher Kirchenmusiker, Organist, Komponist und Musikwissenschaftler. Er studierte Kirchenmusik und Orgel an der Evangelischen Kirchenmusikschule Esslingen am Neckar bei Hans-Arnold Metzger und Musikwissenschaft, Theologie und Geschichte an der Universität Tübingen. Seine berufliche Laufbahn begann als Kantor an der Evangelischen Michaelskirche in Stuttgart-Degerloch. 1954 wurde er Kantor an der Evangelischen Stadtkirche Ravensburg, eine Position, die er bis zu seiner Pensionierung innehatte. Als Musikwissenschaftler arbeitete Horn bis ins hohe Alter eng mit Carus zusammen. So stammen zahlreiche Carus-Klavierauszüge aus seiner Feder. Personal details

Dieser Fassung der Bach-Kantate gebührt eine der höher liegenden Sopran-Fassung ebenbürtige Aufmerksamkeit, sie sollte in Überlegungen zur Planung der Aufführung des Werkes unbedingt mit einbezogen werden.
