The choral music of Peter Cornelius is not yet duly represented in the choral repertoire to the degree that it should be. Thus, the Requiem “Seele, vergiss sie nicht“ is one of the best choral works ever composed. Cornelius developed fine nuances in tempo and dynamics and thereby created wonderful, vivid romantic pictures in sound.
